More than 20 years ago, back when I taught high school English, I had a holiday tradition of writing holiday letters that inserted the titles of books I had read through the year into the storyline, and then provide the reading list on the back-side. I decided to revitalize that tradition this year. I hope you enjoy both the story of our 2022, and the reading list that goes with it.

In January, I took The Big Leap and signed up for a year-long spiritual business coaching program. Over the course of the year, I engaged in a sacred container of a sort of Warrior Goddess Trainingas we dove deeper into The Wisdom of the Shamans. The greatest benefit of the program is that I now have a true community of like-minded individuals who speak my language of Folk Magic & Healing. As an added benefit, the program has proven to be the greatest investment I ever made in my business as the Money Magic is flowing in ways it never has for me before.
In June, Hobbit and I decided to Launch into a new venture, and we bought a 101-year-old house! In the true magic of manifestation, our very first offer was accepted just before interest rates rose. We’ve lovingly named our new home “The Mirth House” which is proving to teach us The Power of Receiving, is filled with more laughter than we can contain ourselves.
The Mirth House has become our greatest gratitude, and every single day we both feel like we have been blessed by The Diamond Cutter. As Hobbit’s many happy alter egos continue to multiply, I find myself in the middle of The Surrender Experiment as The Five Personality Patterns of my own joyful-playful side are Rising Strong.
We made several agreements with The Mirth House. The first Four Agreements were about the Tiny Habits we committed to doing to make it a better home such as tending the garden, and agreeing to Never Eat Alone at our beautiful dining room table. Turns out, Tosha is a very agreeable dining partner.
The Fifth Agreement was one to buy only used furniture…I honed my negotiating skills and learned to Never Split the Difference on Facebook Marketplace. As a result, we have a fully furnished dining room, living room, sunroom, and porch that cost us less in total than we paid for the single couch that lives in Hobbit’s black-light man-cave basement hide-out.
Every day, we look at each other and gush gratitude for how far we have come from the dark days of our “prior lives” to the beautiful sunshine of our current world. We often reflect on all the difficulties and challenges of the dark days we had before we met each other as preparation for us to fully appreciate and value the awesome amazingness we now embrace.
