TeriLeigh was raised by intuitive and spiritual parents in Edina, MN who have endlessly supported her in her three passions: writing, yoga, and energy healing. TeriLeigh won her first writing award in first grade, and tried her first yoga pose around the same time. At the young age of ten, she revealed to her parents her ability to see and read auras, and began her own exploration of spiritual studies.
A graduate of Beloit College with a double major in Creative Writing and Literary Studies, TeriLeigh completed her Master's in Teaching. She worked in public education for ten years, teaching English, Writing, Adult Education, and working with students with special needs, (including a one year sabbatical to work with a child with Autism). She continues to write freelance, editing newsletters and publications as well as composing her own works regularly.
In her early twenties, TeriLeigh suffered chronic and clinical depression, and found exercise and yoga in particular to be the best therapy and treatment for her condition. She met her husband, Ted, in yoga class shortly after surviving a traumatic auto-accident in which she, a pedestrian, was hit by a 4x4 pick-up truck. Doctors and healers credited TeriLeigh's consistent yoga practice for her quick recovery from this devastating accident.
TeriLeighbegan teaching yoga & energy healing professionally in 2005. She began training with Baron Baptiste in 2004, and became a certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Instructor in 2007. She completed her Reiki Mastership in 2005, and has taught energy healing ever since.
After meeting Malidoma Some in May 2007, TeriLeigh enrolled in his Indigenous African Spiritual Technoligies Training and began working directly with Malidoma.
TeriLeigh now teaches yoga and healing privately. She offers healing sessions at Now & Zen Healing Arts Center in Lakeville, and leads yoga workshops at yoga studios upon request. She continues to write and edit publications and pursuing publication of her writing. She lives in Farmington, MN with her husband Ted and her Shiba Inu, Sukha.
